RESULTS OF THE NORTHERN AREA PROJECTED IMAGE THEMED COMPETITION
The Northern Area Projected Image Themed Competition between the Northern Area Clubs was held on Tuesday 20th March 2018. Morpeth Camera Club hosted the event and the judge was Stephen Fowler of Ryton CC.
The scoring was as follows:-
1st place – Alnwick with 257 points
2nd place – Blyth with 250 points
3rd place – Morpeth with 249 points
4th place – Cambois with 247 points
5th place – Ashington with 244 points
6th place – Amble with 240 points
Congratulations to Alnwick. The scoring was very tight between all of the placings. Two images gained the highest score of 30 points. They were Bamburgh Ripples by David Burn and Lily the Pink by Margaret Whittaker who are both members of Alnwick Camera Club. Congratulations to the two authors. Stephen Fowler presented Dough Ross with the trophy who accepted it on behalf of Alnwick Camera Club.
This was the last Interclub event of the season and was well attended. The Morpeth members put on a very good spread afterwards
and everyone had a very enjoyable evening.

5 WAY INTERCLUB COMPETITION
The 5 Way Digital Interclub Competition between Blyth, Cambois, Cramlington, Wallsend and Whitley Bay, was held on Thursday 08th February 2018. This event was hosted by Blyth Photographic Society and the judge was David Ord.
The winning club was Cambois with an overall score of 262 points. In 2nd place was Wallsend with 261 points, Whitley Bay and Blyth came joint 3rd with 253 points and Cramlington were 5th with 250. One image gained the highest score of 30 points. This was ‘Arctic Tern’ by Alan Wennington of Blyth Photographic Society.
The event was very well attended and an enjoyable evening was had by all the clubs that took part. The host club held a raffle which was well supported and they provided an excellent buffet afterwards. Thank you to the members of Blyth for hosting this event and to the judge for his constructive comments.

Arctic Tern by Alan Wennington
RESULTS OF THE NORTHERN AREA PROJECTED IMAGE KNOCKOUT COMPETITION
The Northern Area Projected Image Knockout Competition between six of the Northern Area Clubs was held on Sunday 19th November 2017. Cambois Camera Club hosted the event and the judging panel were Alan McCormick, Alan Porrett and Joseph Duffy.
After the first round, Amble, Blyth and Cambois were eliminated from the Knockout Trophy but would later compete against each other for the Digital Plate. Three images scored 15 points at the end of the first round – Dominique and Blade (Cambois) and Power of the Sea (Alnwick). Alnwick left the competition after the Trophy semi final leaving Ashington and Morpeth to compete against each other in the Trophy final. The battle for the Plate between Amble, Blyth and Cambois was won by Cambois with 183 points. Amble came second with 172 points and Blyth was third with 169 points. Two images scored 15 points in this round – Blade by Paul Knight of Cambois and Gothic Girls by Alison Leddy of Blyth. The Trophy final was won by Morpeth with a score of 185 points and Ashington were the runners up with 181 points. Three images also scored 15 points in this round – Allotment Life by Keith Saint of Ashington - Breakfast by George Sudlow and 2wits by S. Dowson both of Morpeth Camera Club.
Congratulations to Morpeth and Cambois for their respective wins and congratulations to those members who attained the highest scores.
The event was reasonably well attended by some of the clubs that took part and the host club provided an excellent buffet afterwards. Thanks go to the members of Cambois and the three judges for an enjoyable afternoon.

RESULTS OF THE NORTHERN AREA INTERCLUB COLOUR & MONO PRINT COMPETITION
The Northern Area Interclub Colour & Monochrome Print Competition between Alnwick, Amble, Ashington, Blyth, Cambois and Morpeth was held on Wednesday 18th October 2017. This event was hosted by Alnwick Camera Club and judged by Dave Phillips.
The scores were as follow:-
1st place - Morpeth - 219 points
2nd place - Alnwick - 209 points
3rd place - Blyth -208 points
4th place - Ashington - 207 points
5th place - Cambois - 204 points
6th place - Amble - 197 points
Two prints gained the highest score of 30 points. In the Mono section - ‘Tawny Owl’ by Steve McDonald and in the Colour section – ‘Breakfast’ by George Sudlow. Both are members of Morpeth Camera Club. Well done to the members of Morpeth who swept the board in this competition.
The host club provided an excellent buffet and raffle afterwards. Thanks to the members of Alnwick and Dave Phillips for an entertaining and enjoyable evening.
